Black parts in the liner / inlet and I have a carry over problem

Solution

When the column nut of the OPTIC is tightened too strong the ferrule moves up into the inlet. When this is done several times with new ferrules the graphite will move into the inlet. When the inlet top is opened and the pressure is released the parts can even jump into the liner (see picture).

The graphite particles in the inlet or liner will create carry over problems.

Remove the ferrule from the inlet using a Ferrule Removal kit  and clean the inlet.

Do not tighten the nut too much or use metal ferrules  to avoid this problem.
