Why do I have a double solvent peak with large volume injections? (LVI Method)

A double solvent peak when a LVI method is used is normal.

The first peak comes from the solvent venting and the second peak from the splitless transfer. The picture below shows an example of such double solvent peak.

When a MS detector is used the peaks should be in the solvent delay of the MS and this double peak is not seen.
